Plateaus in student performance are common and can be discouraging for learners who feel like their progress has stalled despite continued effort.  Educators play a crucial role in helping students recognize, understand, and move past these plateaus by employing a combination of strategies that focus on mindset, feedback, and instructional design. Join us as we explore effective strategies to help students get over the hill and overcome learning plateaus. Discover practical tools to reignite motivation, enhance growth, and support continuous progress in the classroom. Educators at NCRA approved court reporting programs may attend for free, and other educators can attend for $25. Email schools@ncra.org for the appropriate code.

Kelly Moranz, BS, CRI

Instructor

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C)

Kelly Moranz is an associate professor at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) in Parma, Ohio within the Captioning and Court Reporting Program. She holds the nationally recognized professional certification of Certified Reporter Instructor (CRI) and has been in the court report­ing field since 1985. Moranz is also a graduate of Tri-C. She has worked in multiple freelance firms in a variety of roles and became involved in education in 2006 as a part-time faculty member at Tri-C. Moranz has been instrumental in developing courses and curriculum, recruiting, and expanding the program. She also facilitates a mentorship program that has been recognized by Tri-C for its unique approach in supporting students. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Adult Education.

Moranz was awarded the Ralph M. Besse Excellence in Teaching Award in 2015 by Tri-C and received the inaugural JCR Award for Leadership and Team-building for schools in 2016. In 2016, she was also named NCRA’s Educator of the Year and presented with the CASE Award of Excellence. NCRA’s CASE (Council on Approved Student Education) Award of Excellence recog­nizes the important role student education plays in the court reporting profession and honors educators for their dedication and outstanding achievement and leadership.


Robyn Hennigan, RPR, CRI

Robyn Hennigan is a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) and Certified Realtime Instructor (CRI) and is the Program Coordinator and Senior Technical Instructor in the online Judicial Court Reporting degree program at Clark State College. Robyn has been serving the court reporting profession for 36 years in varying capacities and has served as the program coordinator and only full-time faculty member in the Clark State Court Reporting Program since 2002. 

Hennigan’s professional endeavors include freelance reporting, official reporting, captioning, owning/operating freelance reporting business, serving as an adjunct professor, writing and managing two grants for the college, developing the court reporting degree program online, developing certificate programs online, and working in conjunction with the faculty at Stark State College to create a shared online degree program between Clark State and Stark State Colleges. Robyn also owns and operates RHProofPlus, a scoping and proofreading business serving the reporting profession since 2006. 

At the national level, Robyn is a professional member of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and was appointed to the NCRA Board of Directors in 2017, where she served a short stint prior to resigning due to a family illness. She was awarded the NCRA 2018 CASE Award of Excellence and has served NCRA as a certification test grader for more than 20 years as well as serving on multiple NCRA committees, including the Test Advisory Council and the Council on Approved Student Education, and has developed and hosted webinars for NCRA. Robyn also served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Court Reporters Association in various positions over a ten-year stint and was recognized in 2010 as its Outstanding Associate member. 

For Clark State, Robyn has served on many faculty and college committees, including Co-Chair of the Technology Council, Faculty Senator for the Business and Applied Technologies School, President-Elect and President of Faculty Senate, Assistant Secretary of Faculty Senate, and Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning and Resource Council’s Goal 4, Initiative 1 Work Group. 

Robyn has presented in various venues, including the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Administrative Professionals’ annual seminar, the Council of Administrative Professionals at Clark State, the OCRA annual conference, the NCRA teacher webinar series, the STAR Fireside Chate, and at the Vice-president of Academic Affairs’ college-wide meeting.

Danielle Green

Danielle Green is an educator in business and court reporting education, currently serving as a Professor at Alfred State College, where she teaches both business and court reporting courses on-campus and online with over a decade of instructional experience.

She holds an MBA from SUNY Oswego, a Bachelor’s in Technology Management, and an Associate in Court and Realtime Reporting, all from the State University of New York. Her professional development includes certifications in court reporting instruction, educational coaching, online teaching, and outcomes assessment—many completed with distinction through SUNY. She is also a certified SCOA Scholar Mentor and leadership program graduate.

Her community involvement includes work with veterans through the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project and supporting military spouses via Project Steno, where she teaches introductory stenography.

Her work has been recognized through honors such as the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service, Pioneer Award, and distinctions as an Open SUNY Fellow and Online Teaching Ambassador. She has presented on a variety of topics from student retention to leadership in higher education and has contributed to published works, including a feature in Court Reporters Survival Guide: School Success Stories.
