Katie Barrett Wiik
Katie is the Immediate Past President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is a partner at the national law firm of Saul Ewing.
Katie received her Bachelor’s Degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., her Master’s Degree from Queen’s University in Belfast, Ireland, and her law degree from Harvard Law School.
Katie has been in private practice for 19 years and specializes in business litigation and appellate law.
Judge Mary B. Mahler
The Honorable Mary Mahler is the President of the Minnesota District Judges Association and sits on the Bench in the Seventh Judicial District.
Judge Mahler received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, Calif.
Judge Mahler spent 15 years in private practice prior to being appointed to the Bench in 2010.
Ryan Petty
Ryan Petty is President of the Minnesota Lavendar Bar Association and is an Assistant Attorney General within the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General.
Ryan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Ryan was a litigator at Fish & Richardson for four years before joining the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office in 2024
Elizabeth Sorenson Brotten
Elizabeth Sorenson Brotten is the President of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and is a partner in the Minneapolis office of Foley & Mansfield.
Liz received her undergraduate degree from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minn., and her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
Liz has been in private practice for 18 years and specializes in product liability, personal injury defense, commercial litigation, and asbestos litigation.
