This session will dive into emerging AI legal frameworks and policies across the 50 states and federal government. It will address how these laws and policies might impact or protect the profession.

Kyle Schroeder, J.D.

Mr. Schroeder is active in the emerging field of artificial intelligence law and policy. He focuses on responsible AI integration for local governments, partnering with technical experts to help cities, counties, and ports adopt generative AI responsibly and effectively. Beyond AI, he has worked in technology and public policy issues for 13 years across the fifty states and all throughout the world, including Latin America, Europe, and Africa. Mr. Schroeder obtained his J.D. from the University of Washington. During law school, he served as a judicial extern for (ret.) Justice Mary Yu of the Washington State Supreme Court and (ret.) Judge Barbara Mack of the King County Superior Court. He is an active member of the Washington State Bar and currently serves as the state lobbyist for the Washington Court Reporters Association (WCRA).
