Even the most introverted court reporter must perfect the art of public speaking. We've all noticed that 21st Century attorneys, judges, and even litigants have some different ideas about decorum, courtesy, and the responsibilities of the court reporter. So, it has never been more important to be able to command a room while on the job and to be prepared to advocate for yourself and the profession on the spot. Participants will leave this session with solutions they can use to immediately improve their written and verbal communication skills on and off the job.

Kim Xavier, RDR, CRR, CRC, CMRS, CRI

Kim Xavier, founder of Stenovator Pathway Solutions, Inc., is a veteran court reporter from Texas. She is an official court reporter in Dallas County. 
 
In spite of being a busy wife and mom while working full time, Kim has always enjoyed actively motivating and inspiring student reporters, new reporters, and veteran colleagues through her structured training courses and fun events. She enjoys using her love of music and her gifts of humor and transformational speaking in the court reporting community and beyond. 
 
Kim is looking forward to retirement and investing her time, professional knowledge, and leadership experience to assist in providing much needed opportunities for financial relief and business training for new professional court reporters through her nonprofit organization.  
 
Her favorite quote is “Live full; die empty,” and she fully intends to give her best in this life through outreach and service to the community.
