Kathryn Filley
Sr. Product Manager, YesLaw
Stenograph
Kathryn has almost 20 years of experience in litigation technologies, having built video production and processing divisions for multiple companies. She started as a video operator and quickly moved into the production side of the business, running the offices and managing the clients' and production needs. She joined LiveNote in 2005 and created the Video Services Division for LiveNote and World Service.
Kathryn worked with the development team to build the successful LiveNote Video Streama, the first-of-its-kind streaming video deposition platform. With the acquisition of the RealLegal Software and the need for better adoption of the Multimedia suite of software, Kathryn created the CME Certification (CertifiedMultimedia Expert). The CME certification became the defacto higher learning options for reporting and video firms interested in exceptional deliverables for their clients. After the acquisition of LiveNote by Thomson Reuters, Kathryn continued to run the Video Services Division and added on additional products such as the Video Repository. Most recently, Kathryn was the eLearning Development Manager for Enterprise at Stenograph. During this time, she successfully lead the creation of multiple learning paths for Enterprise products, including complete training path for YesLaw Official Reporters.
Kathryn graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a degree in film and a Bachelor of Arts. A lifelong learner, Kathryn continues to add to her development with Certificates from Cornell University in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and is a graduate of the 2023 Sunnyvale Leadership Program.
Kathryn is Vice Chair for the Sunnyvale Arts Commission and represented Sunnyvale Arts in on a 2023 cultural trip to Japan to visit the sister city of Sunnyvale, Iizuka, Japan, in the Fukuoka prefecture. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys open-water swimming in the San Francisco Bay and Stand-up Paddleboarding in any waterway available. She is often found on local lakes or California coastal beaches, SUPing with her Weimaraner, Maisy. Kathryn also finds time to practice the ancient art of Kintsugi (repairing broken pottery with natural lacquer and gold) in the traditional method, which requires patience and time and has become a restorative and meditative time for her. If you ask her about it, be prepared for a long conversation that will include photos, as she finds it fascinating.
