Journey Along the Yellow Brick Road to a Federal Officialship

Debbie Kriegshauser is currently a federal official reporter with the U.S. District Court in St. Louis, Mo. She has been a reporter since 1980 and has worked in all phases of the reporting profession. She has also served on numerous national and state committees, including her current service on the Test Advisory Council.

After more than two decades as a freelance reporter and occasional CART captioner, Melanie Humphrey-Sonntag returned to her first love, the courtroom, in late 2020 when she landed her dream job with the U. S. District Court in her hometown of Cheyenne, Wyo. She'll cover the pros and cons of the job and why she sleeps wearing a smile these days!

Paul Brandell attended Lansing Community College and has been reporting for 33 years. He freelanced for nine years with Spaniolo & Lundquist, then worked for 20 years with the Hon. William Collette in the Ingham County Circuit Court, Michigan. He started in the U. S. Federal Courts with the Western District of Michigan and his current assignment is with the Hon. Robert J. Yonkers. He and his wife Carrie have been married for 28 years and have three beautiful children, Megan, 26, and Mollie and Matthew, 22. He has always felt fortunate to have followed in the footsteps of his sister and sister-in-law into this great career that has given so much to his family.
